Our Story

​

Growing up in Northern Saskatchewan I believed the only crops that could be grown were wheat and canola. Since then I have discovered a passion for growing something just as beautiful as the golden fields of my childhood, right in my backyard. Moving to Alberta for a job, finding my husband and being blessed with two little baby boys filled my life and my days with hard work and joy. However, something was missing. Moving from Edmonton to a small farm outside of Fort Saskatchewan allowed me to experiment with growing things on our own land for the first time. From a big vegetable garden, to rows of trees, I have been delighted to watch the fruits of our labor grow year after year, none so colourful and sweet as the rows of flowers that fill our home with a feeling of whimsy and beauty. After years of carefully tending to flowers, it began to dawn on me the only thing that made me happier than working with my flowers was sharing them with friends and family. This fulfillment has led me to embark on a new adventure with Little Blooms, in the hopes that I can share unique beautiful blooms and spread some of that joy to the rest of the world. As well as myself, my long-suffering and endlessly supportive husband entertains all my ideas (no matter how wild and impractical), and devotes any spare time to helping Little Blooms grow. Our sons Sam and Mark are very much the inspiration and soul of this endeavour, and bring a lightheartedness to the long season of running a family farm. Their little hands remind me that time passes quickly and so do those sweet summer days.​
